Hair Tips for High School Seniors

As a high school senior photographer in St. Louis & Wentzville, you're likely looking for ways to express yourself and stand out during your final year. One way to do this is through your hair! Your hair can be an excellent canvas for self-expression and creativity, but it can also be a source of frustration if you don't know how to take care of it properly. In this blog post, we'll go over some tips and ideas for hair care and styling for high school seniors.

  1. Keep it healthy

The first and most important tip for maintaining great hair is to keep it healthy. This means keeping it clean, moisturized, and avoiding heat damage. Make sure to wash your hair regularly with a gentle shampoo and conditioner to remove dirt, oil, and product buildup. Avoid washing your hair too often, as this can strip your hair of its natural oils and cause dryness.

Moisturize your hair regularly with a deep conditioning treatment, especially if you have curly or kinky hair. Also, try to avoid using too much heat on your hair, as this can cause damage and split ends. If you do use heat, make sure to use a heat protectant spray or serum to minimize damage.

  1. Experiment with styles

One of the great things about hair is that it's versatile! There are so many styles and techniques you can try to change up your look. You can experiment with braids, twists, buns, ponytails, and more. You can also try different hair accessories, such as headbands, hair clips, and scrunchies.

If you're feeling adventurous, you can even try a new hair color or cut! Just make sure to do your research and find a reputable stylist who can help you achieve the look you want.

  1. Consider your face shape

When choosing a new hairstyle or cut, it's essential to consider your face shape. Certain styles may look better on oval faces, while others may be more flattering on round or square faces. If you're not sure what your face shape is, you can consult with a stylist or use an online face shape calculator to determine it.

  1. Find inspiration

If you're not sure where to start with your hair, try looking for inspiration online or in magazines. Pinterest and Instagram are great places to find hairstyle ideas, and you can save your favorite looks to a board or album for reference. You can also bring photos to your stylist to show them the look you're going for.

  1. Be confident

Finally, the most important tip for rocking any hairstyle is to be confident! If you love your hair and feel good in it, that confidence will shine through. Remember, hair is just one aspect of your overall appearance, and it's not worth stressing over if it doesn't turn out the way you want it to. Embrace your unique style and let your hair be a reflection of who you are.

In conclusion, your hair is an excellent way to express your creativity and individuality as a high school senior. By taking care of your hair, experimenting with styles, considering your face shape, finding inspiration, and being confident, you can rock any look you choose. Good luck and have fun with your hair!
