Spring is an often-overlooked season for senior photos, but it offers some of the most beautiful and relaxed conditions of the year. As a St. Louis and Wentzville senior photographer, spring sessions are some of my favorites because of the softer light, fresh scenery, and calmer schedules.
Unlike fall, which fills quickly and feels fast-paced, spring allows seniors to slow down and truly enjoy the experience.
Spring senior sessions have a lighter, fresher feel. Trees begin to bloom, greenery returns, and the light tends to be softer and more flattering. Locations around St. Louis, Wentzville, and St. Charles County really come to life during this season.
Spring sessions are also less rushed, which helps seniors feel more confident and comfortable in front of the camera.
Choosing outfits for spring senior photos doesn’t have to be complicated. A few simple guidelines can help images feel timeless and natural.
• Soft neutrals and light pastels photograph beautifully
• Flowy dresses, skirts, and relaxed denim work well
• Layers are helpful for changing Missouri weather
• Keep patterns minimal for a clean, classic look
Hair and makeup tend to photograph best when kept fresh and natural, enhancing features without overpowering the look.
Spring is a great option for seniors who want a calm, enjoyable experience and natural, light-filled images. It’s especially ideal for those who prefer blooming scenery, softer tones, and a more relaxed atmosphere than peak fall season.
Whether you’re Class of 2025 finishing up or Class of 2026 planning ahead, spring senior photos offer something truly special.
Spring works beautifully in many locations throughout:
• Wentzville
• St. Louis
• St. Charles County
Fresh greenery, open spaces, and seasonal blooms make spring an ideal backdrop for senior portraits.
Spring senior sessions are about ease, confidence, and enjoying the moment. With softer light, fresh scenery, and a relaxed pace, it’s a season that allows seniors to truly shine.
If you’re starting to think about senior photos, spring is absolutely worth considering.
